Roger Kirkham, who started the Universal Betting Systems web-site is in many ways just a very average person like most of us. Being born in Haifa, in what was then Palestine, to English parents serving in the Colonial Office, meant that he got to travel the world from an early age, and ended up living in the Bahamas, Nyasaland, Rhodesia, South Africa, Germany and, of course, the UK.
After 14 years of doing what most of us end up doing, namely working for a living, he decided that this just was not how he wished to live. Roger started off working in a bank, the most conventional of jobs, and even worked as a public house landlord, and eventually wasted 5 years of his life chasing a career in sales.
Roger inherited money from his father’s estate and decided to go horse-racing because the “working-life’ really had nothing to offer him. During this next period of his life he really learned about life, and managed to work his way through most of the money he had inherited. Fast women and slow horses. Not a penny wasted!
After a few years at the ” University of Life” he discovered a system that managed to keep him ‘more or less’ afloat!
Roger has now spent the last 30 years doing pretty much what he wanted to do, and that is playing golf, going to the races, and to many major sporting events, and being a keen Bath and England Rugby supporter he has spent lots of time following his teams both home and abroad.
